New Space & Supply Chains
The data available from space-based Earth observation—gathered by a wide range of satellites across various wavelengths—now opens up fantastic opportunities for developing new, globally available applications and services.
Supported by the ESA Space Solutions program, OmegaLambdaTec is developing new, innovative business applications using space data. This brings us full circle to our scientific origins in satellite-based astrophysics—with the sole difference that, for our New Space applications, the telescopes are pointed toward Earth rather than away from it.

REAL-WORLD USE CASES WE’VE SUCCESSFULLY DELIVERED
SequOIA-CAM – Satellite-based CO2 tracking and optimization tool
Key Challenges and Goals
The path to global climate neutrality is still long and arduous. In addition to the reduction of CO2 emissions, the carbon storage capacity of vegetation also plays a critical role in the climate balance. The declared goal of the SequOIA-CAM solution is to transparently measure this storage capacity of forests and green spaces, track it over time and optimize it for the future.

SPECTRO-FIT – end-to-end Digital Supply Chain Services
Key Challenges and Goals
As a result of the Corona pandemic, global goods supply chains have become significantly more volatile and susceptible to disruption, which often leads to delivery bottlenecks and disrupted production processes. The goal of SPECTRO-FIT is to ensure improved supply chain transparency through end-to-end mapping of the digital supply chain, enable transport cost optimization, improve predictions of goods arrival times, and model and minimize the impact of disruptions using scenario simulations.

Illustration of end-to-end supply chain monitoring using the SPECTRO-FIT solution, featuring the capability to simulate relevant supply chain disruptions.
OLT-Solution
- Automated analysis of AIS ship data for satellite-based container monitoring
- Linking all supply chain data sets from origin to destination
- Prediction models for transit time and estimated time of arrival at the destination
- Scenario simulator framework for assessing the effects of, for example, port closures, storms, or significantly altered capacity requirements.
Benefit
- End-to-end supply chain transparency from the production site to storage at the distribution center.
- Optimization of transport costs
- Improved cargo time-of-arrival predictions
- Szenarien-Simulationen von möglichen Supply Chain Störungen oder veränderter Kapazitätsanforderungen
